Edu corner WallsWalls define spaces and your home is made up of walls that will either add value to a space or detract from it. It is therefore important that attention is paid to the materials and construction of the walls of your home. The access to and flow through a space is a very important issue and getting it wrong will affect the practical use and comfort of any space.

Your architect should also be paying attention to that the combination of a number of different building materials and systems that are available on the market would add to the design of your home.

Your architect should seek to advise and guide you through the various options and combinations that are available to you relative to the style and design that you have chosen. The combination of face bricks, plastered walls, tiles, glass, stonework and even rough or smooth timber facing, etc. both inside and outside, all make a difference to the appearance of the building and in the end, to the value of your investment.

Walls generally constitute around 10% to 15% of your total building cost but the choices you make could add huge value to your home. Discuss the options with your architect and choose the best option for your investment and your lifestyle.
