Subsequent to the Black Moss story, we received several more questions about brickwork and keeping it clean and have been provided with a lot of information regarding removal of stains and marks from brickworks.

Invariably after a building project or renovation you will be left with mortar or paint stains on your brickwork.  This can be easily remedied.

Water running continuously across brickwork can also lead to staining, as can the residue left behind by lichens and mosses which thrive in damp and humid areas.

Rust, iron, paint can also leave their mark particularly on older buildings.

On the Corobrik website, there is an excellent article on resolving these problems and methods of removing these unsightly and unwanted marks and stains.
