Another interesting question crossed our desks this week.
"Do I need building plans and approval from the municipality to alter my front boundary wall and install a garage door?"
Yes, you do need council approval to do that.
Any alteration to your front boundary wall requires that plans be submitted and approved. I know a number of cases where it is not permitted to have a garage door right on the boundary, so you need to make the enquiry with the municipality before you go to the trouble of having plans drawn up.
