Plastering our swimming pool PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 22 December 2010

This recent heatwave has me looking at my garden and wanting to start digging a hole for a swimming pool.  I've been thinking about doing it myself.

Just in time though a reader sent through the following question:

"We are about to start plastering our new self-built concrete pool.  I would like to know how long we should wait after plastering to fill the pool.  We are plastering with cement and a Bondite mixture."

Les says:

I would rather recommend that you use a product called Poolcrete to plaster your pool.  Full instructions regarding drying time and filling the pool are given with the product.  Bondite is an adhesive and serves little purpose as a waterproofing agent in a plaster mix.  Poolcrete is available in most builders' hardware stores and is purpose designed for your application.
