The Structural Insulated Panel System (SIPS) is a new fully recyclable modular building system that is set to revolutionize the way that we think about building in this country.

The SIPS building system essentially consists of a designed structural light steel frame into which fire rated polystyrene is moulded to form a structural, fully insulated modular panel, with excellent acoustic characteristics. These panels which are either 90mm, 140mm or 190mm thick and made to any required width, are then linked on site to form the building envelope. Openings for windows and doors are pre-arranged within the panel structure.

Services are installed using a hot-knife instead of an angle grinder and there is no mess on site.

The panels can be constructed to suit the vast majority of architectural designs while at the same time providing an economical environmentally friendly alternative to conventional building systems.

Because the system is modular, the entire building envelope, be it an RDP house, a luxury mansion  or a 5 story, 100 roomed hotel, is constructed in a factory and shipped to site to be erected by a trained team in a fraction of the time that it would take to erect a similar sized conventional building. The outer cladding of the panels can range from a plastered finish, using their patented Surecrete system, to shiplap fibre cement planks, timber half logs, face bricks, stonework or a variety of other finishes. Internal walls can be constructed using sips panels or a variety of drywall systems to suit design or structural criteria. Insulated structural roof panels can support a variety of roof finishes from cement tiles to metal sheets or a variety of other coverings.

Economical, quick and structurally sound, the Structural Insulated Panel System (SIPS) is set to make a positive and welcome addition to the building industry as a whole.
