Woodworking AnnieHad the time of my life on Saturday. I went on a woodworking course with a few other gals and we made a wonderful little side table.  Rod Baker, our intrepid woodwork teacher, has kindly provided us with the instructions and step-by-step photographs which we have published  for you.

This is a great little project, it will take you a few hours and is a useful item to have anywhere in your house.  This would even make a great and unusual gift.

Girls Using Power ToolsGo on girls, tackle it!  More and more women are getting involved in DIY.  We worked with a jigsaw, router, electric drill and sander.  These things are not a mystery anymore!  And that's a great feeling.  Playing with power tools is heaps of fun and not just the domain of boys.  OK, guys, you can try this too.  Send us your photographs when you're done.  Will keep you posted on more of Rod's woodworking courses in the Cape Town area or you can contact Rod directly via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

In August we will be tackling the beautiful Adirondack chair.

The project is published under DIY - Adirondack Side Table.  Have fun!
